This piece has found its home. It is kept here as a record of what has passed through our hands.

This is an elegant bamboo flower basket (Hanakago) by Nish inaka Kenji, signed with the art name "Chikusei" .

The basket features a sophisticated design with dual handles and a suspended ring (Yuukan), showcasing refined Japanese bamboo craft techniques from the mid-to-late 20th century.

The basket demonstrates masterful weaving with tightly woven bamboo strips creating a harmonious geometric pattern.

The dual handles on either side are elegantly integrated into the overall structure, while the suspended metal ring adds both functionality and visual interest to the piece.

The piece exhibits the traditional Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, with its understated elegance and natural beauty.

The tight, even weaving demonstrates exceptional technical skill, while the overall form balances traditional craftsmanship with timeless design sensibility.

This basket comes complete with its original signed wooden box (tomobako) and an inner liner, making it ready for display or use.
