Tea container made by " Shuho," for Japanese tea ceremony called ' Natsume' with painting of Japanese four season's flowers, Gold Maki-e the Japanese method of gold plated. This is a striking example of Japan's lauded craftsmanship. Collectable one.
The main decorative element is a stunning gold Maki-e design depicting flowers. The box features a unique "Nashiji" lacquer on the bottom, named after its resemblance to the skin of a pear. This lacquer is meticulously layered with a mix of sand and silver particles, creating a textured surface with a lustrous sheen.
The technique of gold Maki-e involves fixing gold powder or foil onto lacquer to create intricate designs. This lavish art form, with its vibrant colors and rich texture, lends an unmistakable air of opulence to the piece.
