This is an exceptional ceramic bowl titled "Gaku-yo Bowl" (Calyx Bowl) by contemporary Japanese ceramic artist Sayaka Shingu (1979-). The work comes with its original signed wooden box (tomobako), protective cloth (tomonuno), and certificate booklet (shiori), guaranteeing its authenticity.
Shingu Sayaka is a distinguished ceramic artist based in Kyoto, renowned for her unique approach to ceramic art that blurs the boundaries between functional vessels and sculptural objects. This piece exemplifies her ability to create works that are simultaneously functional and deeply artistic.
Her works have been exhibited extensively throughout Japan, including at prestigious venues such as INAX Galleria Ceramica in Tokyo, Takashimaya department stores, and numerous galleries.
